Herr Dr. J.C. Vryghem wurde von der ESCRS/EUCORNEA zum 19. ESCRS Winter Meeting nach Istanbul eingeladen als Keynote sprecher.

Die Augenklinik Rotterdam, das Institut für Augenheilkunde des Universitätskrankenhauses Nimwegen (Nijmegen, Niederlande) und der Verband der Augenärzte von Curaçao hatten Herrn Dr. J.C. Vryghem als Sprecher zum diesjährigen "International Course on New Developments in Ophthalmology" nach Curaçao eingeladen.

On September 1, Dr. Vryghem was elected for 4 years member of the Board of the ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons). The Board has 15 members. Dr. Vryghem is the only Belgian member.
                              
ESCRS is a European umbrella organization of over 9,000 eye surgeons from a hundred countries around the world.

ESCRS is the reference for practitioners active in refractive and cataract surgery. It is the platform where ideas and discussions are initiated and where developments and findings are communicated to all members (through symposia, publications, training, presentations, posters, etc.). Thereby, the acquired expertise is transmitted to all European eye surgeons.

Dr. Vryghem was invited as a guest speaker to the annual congress of the British Society of Refractive Surgery, taking place on june 23 and 24 at The Belfry, Birmingham.

Op 25 november 2011 woonde Dr. Vryghem het Ophtalmologica Belgica congres bij, waar hij ook enkele presentaties gaf.

Op 23 en 24 september 2011 nam Dr. Vryghem deel aan de EuroKeratoConus Meeting in Bordeaux. Hij gaf er een presentatie over 'Topo guided PKR'.
